✅ Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

  • Hold, or be on track to receive, a first-class or equivalent undergraduate or integrated Master’s degree; or

  • Have achieved, or be expected to achieve, a distinction in a standalone Master’s qualification

  • Be applying for a new PhD program at Imperial College London (current PhD students are not eligible)

  • Have secured a commitment from a supervisor at Imperial College London to supervise their research project 

  1. Identify a SupervisorContact a potential supervisor in your field of interest at Imperial College London and obtain their agreement to supervise your PhD project.

  2. Prepare Application Materials:

    • Two-page personal statement:

      • Page 1: Motivation for applying and relevant background

      • Page 2: Research proposal

    • Academic transcripts and certificates

    • Curriculum Vitae (CV)

    • Two academic references (excluding your proposed supervisor)

    • Proof of English language proficiency (if applicable)

  3. Submit ApplicationApply through Imperial College London's online admissions system and select the President’s PhD Scholarship option in the funding section. 

Applications are considered in three rounds:

  • Round 1Apply by 4 November 2024 – decisions by end of January 2025

  • Round 2Apply by 9 January 2025 – decisions by end of March 2025

  • Round 3Apply by 10 March 2025 – decisions by end of May 2025
